Harvest Timing Trial: 2024 and 2025

Abstract
Severe and erratic late-season weather can delay soybean harvest and increase losses due to field deterioration, including pod shattering and reduced seed quality. Management decisions such as planting timing and cultivar maturity affect when fields reach harvest maturity, potentially shifting exposure of late-season risk. This study evaluated how planting date, relative maturity group, and harvest timing influence soybean grain yield across two seasons in Iowa.
