Abstract
Planting date is one of the primary drivers of yield potential in both corn and soybean production systems. It directly determines how crop development aligns with seasonal temperature, moisture, and radiation. While late April is considered to be the day for the start of the prime planting window for both crops, this study had the objective of testing multiple planting dates and maturities to update our knowledge on their changes and yield shifts due to new hybrids and cultivars, as well as, current weather changes in Northeast Iowa.
