Abstract

The Neely Kinyon LTAR Site was established in 1998 to study the long-term effects of organic production in Iowa. Treatments at the LTAR site, replicated four times in a completely randomized design, include the following rotations: conventional Corn-Soybean (CS), organic Corn-Soybean-Hybrid Rye/Red Clover (C-S-HR/RC), organic Corn-Soybean-Hybrid Rye/Red Clover-Red Clover (C-S-HR/ RC-RC), and organic Corn-Soybean-Corn-Hybrid Rye/Red Clover (C-S-C-HR/RC). The C-S-HR/RC-RC plots were previously in C-S-O/ A-A from 1998 to 2022, and had second-year alfalfa plots in the last year of this rotation in 2023.
