Monitoring Insects in Iowa through the USA Midwest Suction Trap Network

Abstract
The USA Midwest Suction Trap Network (https://suctiontrapnetwork.org/) has been in operation since 2005 and continues working thanks to the unconditional collaboration of universities’ personnel and private farmers. It was set to monitor the distribution and migratory patterns of the Asian invasive soybean aphids, Aphis glycines Matsumura. Throughout the past years, data of aphids, thrips, and leafhoppers were published in the Suction Trap Network (https://suctiontrapnetwork.org/data/) and can be downloaded upon request. The objective is to monitor insect’ pests of soybean and corn, and well as their predator’s abundance.
