Abstract

The Coffee-Infused Bones melds the fortitude of 3D-printed elements with the delicacy of knit and lace fabrics to craft a statement piece that celebrates the strength and vulnerability of the human spirit. It is an ode to the resilience of tired bones, revitalized by the comforting warmth of a morning brew. This knit halter-neck dress which features a draped lace rib cage, an exposed back, and a free-falling 3D-printed backbone, was hand-dyed using recycled coffee grounds from Starbucks. This project highlights the potential for eco-friendly practices and the creative fusion of traditional and modern techniques. Celebrating both resilience and delicacy, The Coffee-Infused Bones invites reflection on the intricate balance between strength and fragility, advocating for sustainable, innovative, and thoughtful fashion.
