Abstract

The purpose of the study was to demonstrate the profiles of fashion businesses involved in the circular economy (CE) and their key CE value creations in global markets. Data were collected from LinkedIn registered businesses with the keyword ‘circular economy fashion company’. LinkedIn was adopted because it is the world’s largest social media platform aimed at professionals and offers profile hosting, which is widely utilized by businesses and customers (Tsironis, Daglis, & Tsagarakis, 2022). A total of 107 profiles were used to analyze after eliminating the profiles with lack of information. Overall, the results indicate that European businesses have widely led CE practices in the global fashion industry, businesses with CE activities have largely emerged since 2015, and service businesses operate with innovative value creations along with product-based businesses. Additionally, the findings illustrate CE practices can be applied to the 12Rs strategies proposed by previous studies (Papamichael et al., 2023).

Keywords: circular economy, 12R strategies, LinkedIn, global fashion industry
