Abstract

Snakes have been negatively stereotyped (as a symbol of coldness and wickedness) in many historical stories and myths and some people fear them. Like any other animal, snakeskin can contribute to fashion designers and the fashion industry. By combining textile printing and laser cutting techniques, wearable apparel can be developed that expresses the beauty of snakes. This research explores how animal skin's textural patterns and structures can be utilized in clothing design to express the fact that every creature in all creation has an innate attraction, even if most humans do not embrace it.
