Exhibition of 3D virtual garments, alongside historic garments, meshes historical and virtual dress curation. Our process to digitally replicate historic 1920s dresses from the Fashion and Textiles Collection at the University of Delaware provides a learning opportunity for undergraduate students. This paper shares that process and a unique, international collaboration between students and faculty from the United States and China as we create digital twins of dresses from the 1920s too fragile to be displayed on a dress form in preparation for a museum gallery exhibition and companion digital exhibition.
