Abstract

Therefore, in this study, we propose a method to permanently preserve and disseminate information and clothing of modern and contemporary fashion by using 3D virtual costume production software to produce costumes with high similarity to actual costumes that can be displayed at the Costume Museum. There is great meaning in doing so. In addition, a new direction of comprehensive research on the use of historically significant 1980s costumes and 3D virtual costumes was presented, and a case of building a virtual costume museum unlike existing studies was presented. It is valuable as a basic data.

Despite these implications, in order to actually build a virtual costume museum properly, it is necessary to produce many modern fashions with 3D virtual costumes, copyright issues regarding the use of the images used, and domain server issues. Therefore, in order to continuously solve problems through follow-up research and to produce 3D virtual costumes, it is necessary to select various subjects such as traditional and modern fashion for each era and country. Therefore, if a follow-up study on the production of various western costumes and modern and contemporary fashion 3D virtual costumes is carried out through this thesis, it will be possible to establish the only virtual costume museum in Korea.
