How Competitive is the Bangladesh’s Apparel Export Firms? An Exploratory Content Analysis of the Unique Firm Resources Claimed by the Apparel Export Firms of Bangladesh

Abstract

Bangladesh's apparel exports trade is mostly dominated by the apparel industry. The apparel industry has significantly contributed towards Bangladesh's social and economical development. Many experts also projected that Bangladesh has the capacity to become the next China. However only a little research available on the individual apparel firms of Bangladesh. So, in this study we aimed to explore the unique firm resources claimed by the Bangladeshi apparel firms. A web-based content analysis was performed for this study. The findings of content analysis revealed several unique key firm resources claimed by the Bangladeshi apparel firms. The findings of this study will help the foreign buyers, sourcing personnel, owners and management of Bangladeshi apparel firms to better understand the country's resources.
